Summer Internship Program

The Fannie Mae Summer Internship Program is available to rising university junior and senior students and is hosted in our Washington, D.C, Northern Virginia and Plano, TX offices.

During the 10-week summer internship, you will have the opportunity to apply your education and perspectives to solve real-world issues and work with diverse teams within different departments like Finance, Technology, Analytics and more. As a Fannie Mae intern, you will be a contributor on a team that fits your skills and interest in a dynamic environment alongside full-time employees.

Utilize data and analytics expertise to power quality and intelligent business decisions, harboring statistical processing languages including SAS, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Netezza, Oracle and UNIX. Deepen skills in design, coding, testing, and supporting software products related to meeting customer requirements, while performing tasks using formal software development methodologies and partnering with business areas to develop a comprehensive understanding of how existing applications support the business. Qualifications

  • Strong analytical background
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute to a team atmosphere
  • Self-starter, strong business acumen, and results focused
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluency and aptitude with technology applications
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
