JOB INFORMATION

We are looking for a senior technology leader who is equal parts strategist, practitioner, and teacher, with a passion for digital transformation initiatives. This executive will bring new perspectives from diverse, world-class technology environments and apply them to Fannie Mae as we continue our digital transformation journey.

The VP, Technology Transformation will be instrumental in driving change and implementing Fannie Mae's digital and technology strategy in the focus areas of Scaled Agile and DevOps in alignment with lean management. Key objectives for the role include building and executing a transformation strategy, cross-functional program management and the development and execution of key components of our digital strategy.

The position will be part of Fannie Mae's Transformation office, focused on the continued development of technology capabilities across the enterprise. He or she should be technically proficient with the DevOps and Agile models, with a focus on integrating DevOps practices and establishing local competency in teams. This leader will leverage the enterprise reach of the Transformation Office and its change consultants as a delivery and reinforcement mechanism.

This leader is execution driven, and equally comfortable leading from a strategic level, as well as diving deep into a problem and holding those accountable for the multitude of daily actions and initiatives that comprise a technology transformation program.

S/he will serve as a subject matter expert in the following areas: Software Development, Continuous Integration/Deployment, DevOps, Technology Architecture, Agile, and Data. This leader will have the opportunity to drive new, next generation technology initiatives; help shape the technology vision and target architecture across the enterprise; contribute to improving Fannie Mae's technology stack, all through hands-on technical work as well as in an advisory capacity.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Drive technology transformation and development initiatives for Fannie Mae, including software development practices, behaviors and culture
  • Own the execution and implementation of Fannie's modern DevOps operating model; ensure a seamless integration with Lean and Agile practices and establish Site Reliability Engineering
  • Design, build and coach the teams to deliver on Fannie Mae's Cloud migration
  • Collaborate with our lead developers, architects, and product owners to automate the management and uptime of our development and production environments
  • Serve as a visible technology strategist and thought leader, leading by example and through a results-oriented approach
  • Work with technology leadership to identify focus areas for transformation, modernization and continuous improvement
  • Through active involvement in recruiting events and networking forums, promote Fannie Mae as a leader in the technology space and a beacon for great talent
EDUCATION

Education Level Required (if any)
Bachelors degree preferred and/or equivalent years of experience

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
15+ years of increasingly responsible experience in managing large-scale program delivery and technology adoption including detailed experience with technology infrastructure transformation

15+ years serving as a technical subject matter expert in a multitude of areas inclusive of DevOps, Technology Design/Architecture, Cloud, Data, and Software Engineering

10+ years of experience at a best-in-class, technology company with a strong commitment to technology innovation

10+ years of large-scale team management experience; a propensity and track record of motivating, retaining, hiring, and developing technology talent

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Proven ability to influence change and drive consistent adoption in a large, complex, matrixed environment; successfully implements new ways of delivering value, engagement and behavior 

High-level orchestrator of complex processes that involve large numbers of discrete initiatives

Skilled strategist and communicator who is visible to Management Committee and Business leaders in driving transformation

Track record of being a transparent and humble leader; motivated by the impact of large change management efforts
