Use modern tools, techniques, and methods to develop, modify, or update applications used by business units or infrastructure units. Lead, or play lead technical role in Test Engineering teams' efforts to determine Performance & Chaos Engineering needs of large-scale mission critical systems and business processes. Assess high level architecture and design issues relating to platform, enterprise software, interactions with other systems, Application development, infrastructure, database and middleware teams to ensure stability and optimal end-user experience. Leads Enterprise Test Engineering team with primary responsibility of driving adoption of Performance Engineering capabilities & Chaos Engineering across the enterprise and build the practice in a sustainable manner.


•Support the team in the writing of Performance and Chaos Engineering strategies, scripts and place strong emphasis in automated deployment, infrastructure automation solutions, and continuous delivery process.

•Work with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in large/complex development projects

•Create or Update documentation in support of development efforts. Documents may include detailed specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams or design documents.

•Participate in code reviews with peers and managers to ensure that each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story and all standard resource libraries and architecture patterns as appropriate.

•Respond to trouble/support calls for applications in production in order to make quick repair to keep application in production.

•Serve as a technical lead for an Agile team and actively participate in all Agile ceremonies. Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives

•Mentor or provide technical guidance to less experienced staff; may use high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process.

•Leverage Fannie Mae DevOps tool stack to build, inspect, deploy, test and promote new or updated features. May serve as technical lead, architect, project lead or principle developer in course of large or complex project.

•Expert proficiency in Automation and Performance testing as well as coding in 1-2 languages (e.g. C, Java etc).

•Expert proficiency in Object Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis. Expert proficiency in application of analysis/design engineering functions. Expert proficiency in application of non-functional software qualities such as resiliency, maintainability, etc. Expert proficiency in advanced behavior-driven testing techniques. Provide expertise for teams in all matters related to deployment, building and release process.

•Help create and maintain an automated performance testing infrastructure and draft product release deliverables consistent with established standards, methodologies, and best practices.

•Facilitate the design and development of performance engineering and resiliency methodologies, collaborating with engineering and product teams to implement shift left techniques on test design and automation.


•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required


•8+ years of related experience


•At least 5 years’ experience in software development/engineering using Application APIs integrating with cloud applications and MS Office 365 on Desktop and Mobile (iOS/Android).
•Experience with SRE Concepts, Chaos Engineering, Mean Time to Detect (MTTD, and Mean Time to Restore (MTTR).
•Ability to define and drive performance strategy at line of business and project level on modern micro service-based architectures & operations in a heterogeneous environment spanning on-prem & cloud stacks.
•Hands-on experience in debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning Java applications and garbage collection. Understand memory management and thread pools.
•Experience in performance evaluation, Monitoring and Log Analysis of large-scale Cloud applications using Tools like Dynatrace, ExtraHop, LoadRunner, Blazemeter, JMeter, Splunk etc.
•Experience with UI framework such as XML, HTML, CSS preferred.
•Experience with data formats like XML and HTML.
•Knowledge of security frameworks (SSL, Data encryption, etc..)
•Experience in Agile software development methods such as Scrum preferred.
•Knowledgeable with Github/Bit Bucket, Eclipse/Intelli J, Maven, and Jenkins.
•Employee Experience Integration a plus.
•Highly effective communication skills and experience on a service-oriented team.
