Sr. DevOps Engineer

Job Description


Our Single-Family, Digital Products Team, located in Plano, TX is looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer that will be part of leading one of the most important digital transformation at Fannie Mae. You will be working on an enterprise application framework that is key in moving our entire platforms to AWS. 
As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you will assess high level design issues relating to platform, enterprise software, and interactions with other systems. As well as coordinate and manage the entrance of new hardware and software into the IT computing environment and define the process for release package assembly, version control, migration control, release preparation and acceptance, communication and installation. 


•Independently plans and delivers specific functionality within their expertise.
•Presents and or defends the work to the team or other organizations. Has defined specialties in primary areas of responsibility
•Collaborates using open communication and reaching across functional borders
•Develop sound version control best practices-based CM systems (ClearCase, SVN, GIT, etc.), including branching and merging strategies
•Perform configuration management for all different applications running on all environments and manage the production release process that ensures the reliability and availability of the platform
•Maintain up to date and relevant play books and documentation in support of the different platforms/programs
•Contribute in developing best practices for infrastructure as code (Puppet, Shell scripting), software builds tools (Maven, ANT, Shell) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Hudson), and infrastructure automation (VM Ware, Puppet, Chef, etc.)



•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required


•4+ years of related experience in DevOps


Required Skills

•Proven prior experience in leading and implementing continuous delivery and DevOps engineering practices to accelerate delivery
•Hands-on experience in Cloud Technology such as AWS, AWS CLI, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
•Demonstrated skills and experience in either Python or Java as well as having experience with NodeJS and JSON
•Strong hands-on experience in DevOps related tools such as Jenkins, SVN, Git, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, Groovy, YAML or similar
•Knowledge of UNIX (Linux) environment and scripting (Bash, Shell and Python)
•Exposure to configuration management tools; RapidIT, Puppet, Chef or Ansible
•Expertise in RESTful Webservices, SOA and Cloud application architecture
•Hands on deployment and release management experience and related tools such as Flyway
•Experience with Agile Development Methodology

Preferred Skills

•Experience with infrastructure architecture for large enterprise environments would be a plus
•Experience in test automation and related tools and concepts such as Cucumber, REST Assure, Newman, Selenium, etc.
