JOB INFORMATION

 

 

Fannie Mae is looking for a technical project manager to manage migrations/upgrades for the Hosting/Infrastructure/Network/Enterprise Resiliency orgs. This position requires extensive analysis and coordination of deployments in support of prod stability, audit findings and tech refreshes. The perfect candidate for this role will have technical project management experience in infrastructure to properly vet project requests, evaluate scope, impacts, outages and risks.  

 

 

 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

 

•Plan coordinate and procure all necessary authorizations for “non-business hours” prod deployments.

 

•Planning and execution for deployments to prevent incidents/outages for critical apps such as Desktop Underwriter operating on the underlying infrastructure.

 

•Meet with application owners, application developers and analysts, coding staff and the like to determine business needs and functionalities desired for new or revised application.

 

•Plan course of projects, including milestones, resources needed in the form of staff hours, budget, use of technology and tools and document in project plan, following established project management methodology.

 

•Track course of project from meetings, conferring with developers, and receiving reports. Update project plan as needed. Document changes to scope or functionalities with change ticket, project plan, or other format.

 

•Assess compliance of development process with accepted methodology and communicate to responsible managers or staff. Document exceptions or deviations as needed. Convene meetings and plan agenda to ensure important issues are aired and resolved.

 

•Report on progress of project, use of staff, $ expenditures, progress on milestones and the like to application owners.

 

•Provide guidance to project staff. May plan, document, manage and evaluate staff performance, or contribute to evaluation by their managers.

 


 

 

 

 

EDUCATION


Bachelor’s  Degree or equivalent experience is required


Master’s Degree or Other Advanced Degree Preferred


Degree in Computer Science or Business Preferred


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE


4-6 years of experience
2-4 years of project management or related experience 


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS


Ability to analyze different components of the infrastructure and application environments.
3+ years experience with IT Infrastructure components such as Unix/Linux/Wintel Servers, networks, firewalls, routers, load balancers, Apache, web logic, Oracle/MS SQL databases, SAN, Virtualization and Enterprise monitoring.
Experience working with cloud infrastructure environments.
Experience and confidence working with all levels of management.
Ability to quickly and concisely communicate (verbal and written) with senior management and other stakeholders on technical issues in non-technical terms.
Ability to occasionally work on nights and weekends depending on the nature of the projects.
Strong relationship management skills and aptitude to multi-task in a high stress environment, both within teams and independently.
Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
ITIL or PMP certification, Financial services industry experience is desired.
