Work under limited supervision to review and assess eligibility of loans delivered to Fannie Mae in areas of loan origination, underwriting, quality control, to ensure that loans meet the firm's specific guidelines and requirements. Performs special projects requested by management.

  • Review loans for quality assurance, misrepresentation, and risk. Analyze and report on loan quality issues. Recommend changes.

  • Stay abreast of and well versed on all Fannie Mae Selling Guide/Product changes (e.g. Announcements, Lender Letters, Publications, etc.)

  • Maintain acceptable response times, accuracy rates and production targets as required by the department.

  • May perform moderately complex projects or participate as a team member on more complex projects.


Education Level Required
Bachelor Degree or Equivalent

2+ years of related experience

  • Underwriting experience including recent experience in either
    origination or audit underwriting function.
  • Expert familiarity of Fannie Mae Selling Guide.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to quick understand complex problems and
    scenarios and recommend solutions.
  • Familiarity with TRID/Closing Disclosures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to summarize analysis of work 
  • Working Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
